May 06, 2003

Appointment underpins management's plan to drive sales growth in Asia

Singapore - 06 May 2003 - Willas-Array Electronics (Holdings) Limited ("Willas-Array"), one of the largest Hong Kong-based distributors of electronics components in the Asia Pacific region, today announced the expansion of its management team with the appointment of Mr Roger Wong to the post of Managing Director with immediate effect.

In this capacity, Mr Wong will be responsible for the development and growth of new and existing business opportunities in Hong Kong, and will spearhead Willas-Array's continued expansion into the PRC.

Mr Wong assumes these responsibilities from Mr C C Kwok, who will remain as Deputy Chairman and will continue to focus on building and managing Willas-Array's sales operations in overseas markets, specifically in promising markets like South Korea.

Mr Lawrence Leung, Executive Chairman of Willas-Array said, "The addition of Mr Wong to our management team not only reinforces our commitment to optimise operations and develop go-to-market strategies, but also allows Mr Kwok to concentrate on planning and defining the group's long term growth directions."

Mr Wong is a veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and electronic industries. In his various positions with multi-national corporations over the last 10 years, he was responsible for business development in the PRC, successfully penetrating the PRC market with several ventures.

Most recently, Mr Wong held the post of Director of Asia Pacific Business Unit for ON Semiconductor (a spin-off company from Motorola's analog product division with over US$1.2 billion in sales). During his tenure, Mr Wong is credited with launching the Standby Power reduction technologies and products in the PRC which won ON Semiconductor recognition from the Chinese government - the China Certification Centre for Energy Conservation Product award - the first and only foreign semiconductor company to be honoured.

"Mr Wong's established track record of experience in the semiconductor and electronic industries and his success in building strong customer relationships in the PRC while leading global, high technology businesses made him the pre-eminent choice as our Managing Director," said Mr Leung. "With more than 90% of our revenue coming from Hong Kong and the PRC, Mr Wong's addition to our firm is part of our overall growth strategy and demonstrates our commitment to the local markets we serve."

With regard to his appointment, Mr Roger Wong said, "Willas-Array has distinguished itself as a leading distributor of electronics components in the Asia Pacific region. Willas-Array is a well-known and established name in the industry and I am proud to be a part of it. I look forward to helping Willas-Array increase market share and develop new business opportunities in the PRC," said Mr Wong.

Mr Wong graduated from Stanford University with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Administration.
